Do you have an adult or senior dog who needs a dog training tune-up?
A lot of people have older dogs that have not been trained well from the beginning, or have not had their training reinforced over the years.
It may seem your older dog has forgotten how to behave. Some older dogs will begin barking more, become more aggressive, or try your patience with disruptive or dangerous behaviors.
As dogs get older, their natural instincts, tendencies, and untrained behaviors often show up or get stronger. Some older dogs can actually become more disobedient with age. That’s frustrating but normal.
You can do a lot to improve your old friend's unwanted behavior with training that's tailored to your older dog.

I’m here to dispel the myth that you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. You absolutely can teach older dogs! I help people with older dogs to retrain basic commands, address house training concerns, and correct unwanted behaviors.
Dog training for older dogs can be just as much fun and rewarding as working with a young dog.
Training older dogs is something I enjoy, and I’m happy to work with you and your older dog.
Not every dog gets adopted as a puppy. Many people take in older dogs, or rescue stray or abandoned dogs. You have special challenges trying to train an older dog.
Often they are bigger, stronger and more intimidating than a puppy.
One of my specialties is working with the challenges of training older dogs. We’ll address the different challenges you have when training an older dog that you don’t have with a puppy.
Tommy is an adult dog who was adopted after he was found wandering in the streets.
At first, Tommy was aggressive, uncooperative and hard to control. His owner wanted to keep him, but started to worry if adopting him was a good idea. But after we worked together for a few sessions, Tommy became a wonderful dog.
As you can see in this picture, Tommy is happy, cooperative and a great companion.

I would like to thank the dedicated and caring people at the Montgomery County Humane Society for trusting me to work with unadoptable dogs to help them get placed into loving homes. The training I provide is based on love and positive reinforcement.
